Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow (28) is set to be very busy during the preseason this year after throwing just eight passes over the past four years during the exhibition games.

Head coach Zac Taylor believes this will prevent Burrow from having a slow start to the season, a problem other players have at the start of the regular season.

"So he'll participate every single day like he normally would, fully healthy, and then anticipate playing him more in games than we ever have," said Taylor.

"Coaches know how I've felt about that," Burrow said. "How I've always talked about how that would benefit me for sure. Other positions, I think, you have to be careful because of how physical those positions are. But for me, those reps are valuable."

Burrow has a brutal injury history since entering the league. He tore his ACL in 2020, dislocated his finger in 2021, then suffered a calf strain and torn wrist ligament in 2023.

The veteran quarterback threw seven passes during the 2024 preseason, which was his first action in exhibition matchups since 2021.

So, there's no telling how much "more than ever" specifically means as of right now.

Burrow is coming off a career year in which he threw a league-leading 4,918 yards, paired with 43 touchdowns and nine interceptions, helping wide receiver teammate Ja'Marr Chase earn the Offensive Player of the Year Award after leading the league in receptions (127), receiving yards (1,708), and receiving touchdowns (17).

The Bengals missed the playoffs after finishing the 2024 season with a 9-8 record.
