San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk could return by Week 6 of the 2025 regular season, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Aiyuk is still recovering after tearing the ACL and MCL in his right knee last season during a Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs

The 27-year-old was drafted by the 49ers with the 25th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. After posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120 million extension ($76 million guaranteed) with the 49ers prior to the 2024 season.

Aiyuk earned his first All-Pro (second team) status in 2023 after finishing the season with a career-high 1,342 receiving yards paired with seven touchdowns.

He finished the 2024 season with just 374 yards on 25 receptions, but the veteran is looking to make his mark when he returns this season.

The team also recently placed Ameer Abdullah on season-ending injured reserve after the running back sustained an injury during Sunday's preseason game against the Chicago Bears, bringing in Jeff Wilson Jr. as the replacement.

Wilson Jr. spent the first four-and-a-half years with the Niners.
