The Washington Capitals keep their goaltender duo together after signing Charlie Lindgren (31) to a three-year extension on Monday worth $9 million.

The deal comes after the Caps extended starting goaltender Logan Thompson to a six-year extension back in January (click here for details).

Lindgren is 13-10-3 on the season with a 2.70 goals against average (GAA) and a .898 save percentage.

"(I'm) really happy to get it done and to sign a three-year deal here," said Lindgren. "Obviously, I think you guys all know how I feel about this place and the people here, from the trainers to the staff right through security, teammates. It's really just a home-run organization, so really happy to sign the deal."

Despite Lindgren being around the league since 2015, his past three years on the Capitals have been where the veteran netminder has found his home.

With just three more starts, Lindgren will have started at least 30 games for the Caps in each of the three seasons he's been with the team.

"Since joining our organization in 2022, Charlie has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and reliability in net with his athleticism and drive," said Capitals General Manager Chris Patrick. "With both goalies under contract for the next three seasons, we expect this tandem to provide our club stability at a crucial position and push one another to compete and play at a high level."
